Brikama Branch

The Brikama Branch Library is one of the key regional branches of the National Library Service of The Gambia, established to promote literacy and provide equitable access to information resources across the country. History and Development

The Brikama Branch Library was inaugurated in 1990 as part of the National Library Service’s decentralization program aimed at extending library facilities beyond the Greater Banjul Area. Initially operating with a modest collection and limited space, the branch has grown into a fully equipped public library serving thousands of users annually.

Over the years, the library has benefited from various national and international partnerships that have supported its expansion, modernization, and digitization initiatives.
